Trafficking survivors have unique needs including addiction and dissociation. In this training you'll meet a survivor of human trafficking, via pre-recorded video, and hear first-hand her experiences with EMDR and learn about the needs of this special population.

Understand the psychological effects of human trafficking
Identify the ways in which the psychological effects of human trafficking present in a clinical setting
Determine how to structure the Second Phase of EMDR in the context of dissociation and complex trauma
Apply the 8 Phases of EMDR to the unique needs of human trafficking survivors
Completed EMDR Basic Training is required to participate in this training.

Shari is a licensed psychologist and certified addictions counselor. She specializes in treatment of addictions and PTSD. She is also certified to provide Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), which is an evidence-based treatment for PTSD. She is the Chair of the Behavioral Health Workgroup for the York County Human Trafficking Task Force and the Chair of the Human Trafficking Subcommittee for the Pennsylvania Psychological Association. She also serves as the Disaster Response Network Coordinator for the Pennsylvania Psychological Association and the Regional Co-Lead for Disaster Mental Health with the American Red Cross.
