Meet Our Trainers

Amanda Covalt
Amanda received her Bachelor's in Psychology from Penn State University in 2011 and her Master's of Social Work at Widener University in 2020 with a Trauma Certification. She has worked in mental health since 2011 in group homes and then as a group activities therapist at a Partial Hospitalization Program. She is trained to provide Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). She has an interest in working with those who have a history of trauma, PTSD, DID, anxiety and depression.
When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family or just relaxing at home.
Callie Hildreth
Callie is a clinical social worker who believes every person has the power to create a life they enjoy. She has extensive training in various trauma-focused and informed treatments. Her experience includes working with survivors of child abuse, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, depression, anxiety, and PTSD. She is an LGBTQIA affirming therapist, a trauma-informed yoga teacher, and is EMDR trained.
Cheyenne Bowman
Cheyenne is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and EMDR trained clinician with six years of experience working in the mental health field in residential and inpatient settings. She is passionate about working with adult clients navigating severe and persistent mental illness, as well as anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, and relational difficulties. Cheyenne is an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist. She enjoys incorporating creativity, mindfulness, and self-exploration techniques into her sessions. Cheyenne utilizes an eclectic approach including CBT, DBT, psychodynamic and client-centered treatment modalities in therapy.
Melissa Rivera-Smith
Melissa is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPCMH) and National Board-Certified Counselor (NCC). Melissa has almost 4 years of experience working with adults in community mental health, and as a college-based therapist. Melissa enjoys working with adults, teens, and couples. Melissa’s style of therapy is client-centered, empathic, and compassionate. As a client-centered therapist Melissa works to establish a trusting and dynamic relationship with clients to assist them with exploring current and past issues that impact their functioning. Melissa is experienced in working with a variety of mental health diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, anger management difficulties, interpersonal difficulties, personality disorders, and trauma. Melissa employs a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities to assist clients in exploring areas of concern, identifying root causes, and working towards putting down survival skills that no longer work. Melissa has had training in CBT, couples work, and is EMDR trained.
Whitney Dahlberg
Whitney is a Licensed Clinical Professional Art Therapist. As an art therapist, she is trained in traditional counseling techniques with a specialization in art modalities.Through art making and dialogue, she pays special attention to the experiences of our mind-body connection utilizing a holistic, process-oriented perspective and works from an individualized, strengths-based, trauma-informed lens. She seeks to provide a visual channel through meaning-making to safely express and navigate obstacles to healing. Engaging in the process of art itself can improve self-esteem, increase emotional self-efficacy, and facilitate an individual sense of identity.
Whitney is an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist who creates an environment of safety, trust, and respect for her clients. She has worked with individuals of all ages experiencing grief, depression, anxiety, medical diagnosis, and trauma. She is passionate about art as a tool for communication and the healing power of the creative process. Whitney is EMDR trained.
Sarah Martin
Sarah is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the State of Maryland and a Board Certified Counselor (through NBCC). Sarah has over 8 years of experience working in the mental health field. Sarah has extensive experience working with diverse individuals of all ages and families who have experienced trauma. She is passionate about helping individuals cope with medical trauma as well as helping families navigate adoption and the foster care system. Sarah is trained in EMDR, Neurofeedback, and offers Alpha-Stim treatment.
Katie Honeywell
Katie has been working as a licensed counselor for 10 years, providing counseling in inpatient and outpatient settings. Katie is a National Certified Counselor and an EMDRIA certified therapist. As a counselor, she enjoys working with children, adolescents, parents and adults. In relation to trauma, she has a special interest in parenting, attachment, dissociation, parts work, postpartum health and perinatal trauma. Katie's style of consultation is based in a nonjudgemental environment that highlights learning strategies to implement theory.
Liz Rzepkowski
Liz (She/her) is a LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist who has many years of experience working in the mental health field including in-patient hospitalization, school-based settings and outpatient. Liz enjoys working with multiple populations including children, adolescents and adults in a person-centered and attachment-based approach.
Liz is EMDR certified and also likes incorporating concepts of DBT, IFS theory, mindfulness and strength-based approaches to help identify, and bring out your most authentic self. She enjoys incorporating different concepts such as art and music into the treatment process as well. She is also trained in Alpha-Stim Treatment. Â
Liz understands that the healing process is not often a direct route, but with much more to be gained in taking a scenic view.
