Join Trauma Specialists of Maryland as we explore practical, creative ways to pursue health and wellness in this time where so many of us have higher stress levels, new demands placed upon us, and are changing how or where we work.
In this series, we have invited speakers to talk with us and/or demonstrate ways to add moments of health and wellness to our lives in quarantine. We hope that this will provide you with some concrete, specific ideas of things to try in your home. The various areas of wellness explored in each of these webinars will allow you to choose what works best for you and be introduced to new techniques and ideas.

Your Instructor
Rachel is the Founder of Trauma Specialists Training Institute, LLC in Frederick, MD. She is a Certified Therapist and an Approved Consultant for EMDR Therapy, as well as a trainer, offering EMDRIA approved EMDR trainings nationally. Rachel brings 22 years experience as a therapist specializing in the treatment of complex trauma and attachment. She offers both community and professional training in attachment parenting, working with children, the treatment of trauma, EMDR, dissociation and adoption, among other topics. Rachel is passionate about treating trauma, specifically using EMDR to heal our communities.

Tammy Thornton, MS,RDN, LDN
Tammy began a 25-year career as a nutritionist with a desire to create foods that were tasty and healthy by serving a purpose in life. She is most excited about supporting clients’ needs for gastrointestinal (GUT) health, and the mental health symptoms that are exacerbated from dietary and environmental toxins. She has experience and training from the Ellyn Satter Institute, as well as, experience utilizing Emotional Brain.
Heather Stang, MA, C-IAYT, Frederick Meditation Center
Heather Stang is a mindfulness speaker, author of Mindfulness & Grief and a certified Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy practitioner with a Masters degree in Thanatology (death, dying and bereavement). Based on her experience of a work-stress related diagnosis that led to her discovery of yoga and mindfulness, Heather provides powerful tools designed to boost resilience, decrease compassion fatigue & cultivate leadership excellence while living their best life.
Christine Dance-Wolf MSEd, E-RYT500, Yoga instructor and owner at Resilience Yoga
Christine Dance Wolf is the owner of Resilience Yoga and creator of Resilient Kids Yoga & Mindfulness Trainings focuses on yoga for special populations. She provides customized training, direct, and indirect services to schools, yoga studios, mental health professionals, and therapeutic centers. Christine is also passionate about exploring the healing components of yoga for physical injuries/special conditions as well as the healing power of yoga for trauma.
Sarah Laughland, Dance instructor
Sarah is a dancer, singer, actress, and dance educator & choreographer. She lives & works in the DMV after spending 5 years at Barter Theatre, where she performed in 32 productions and 6 play festivals. Sarah adores learning, and is constantly striving for new and improved ways to move, strengthen, & communicate.
Beth Owens, Dipl. Ac., L. Ac. Acupuncture
Beth practices acupuncture and oriental medicine in downtown Frederick, Maryland and formerly at the Johns Hopkins Integrative Medicine & Digestive Center in Baltimore. Using a unique blend of protocols integrated into her practice over the past sixteen years, Beth effectively treats chronic and acute conditions. She specializes in allergy elimination, pain management, orthopedic acupuncture, sports acupuncture, oncology support, and general family wellness care while also providing preventive and optimum performance health care.
Ajita Robinson- Grief Counselor, PhD, NCC, LCPC-S
Dr. Ajita M. Robinson holds many titles including Therapist, Educator, Speaker, and Author. She is known as The Experts’ Therapist. Dr. Ajita Robinson's academic background highlights her commitment to excellence. While obtaining her Ph.D., she completed a post-Masters certification in Grief and Loss, and a fellowship in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities at Children’s National Medical Center.
Aimee Grahe, Massage Therapist
An alumni of the Baltimore School of Massage training program, Aimee has mastered Swedish, Deep Tissue and Myofascial Release, while keeping up with her studies in Sports Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Reflexology, and a thorough study of NeuroMuscular Therapy. Aimee also graduated from the Hagerstown Community College School of Nursing and is a Registered Nurse. After spending many hours caring for patients in the Intensive Care Unit her appetite to learn and understand more about wellness and healing grew! She completed the Master's Degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine at the Maryland University of Integrative Health in December 0f 2017. Her vision is to understand the uniqueness of each person's suffering and provide truly individualized care. With the tools of Acupuncture, herbal medicine, massage/Tui Ni and the nursing perspective, she partners with each patient and sees each person as a unique whole, and offers to them individualized compassionate care.
